"Our crowns have already been bought and paid for. All we have to do is wear them." ~ James Baldwin

Imago Full Logo.png

This deep wisdom, along with the crown in the styling of Jean-Michel Basquiat, is the essence of Imago’s work. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for – and the wait is over.

The bold brushed "I" of Imago's logo offers this: a world of change begins within. On each point of the crown shines a jewel, each jewel guiding our steps every day:

  • Step out from behind the masks and make it real.

  • Accept what is and become accountable.

  • Create deep meaning – for ourselves and for others.

We have entered an age of unprecedented interdependence, flux, connection, opportunity – and ambiguity-induced chaos. The world has changed – but many of our methods haven’t, and the time has come for a necessary R.EVOLUTION.

As people who are radically responsible to the talent we have been given, WE:

  • Step out from behind the masks and make it real. We get that authenticity is the new black, and that being uncool is not only refreshing – it has the true power to transform.

  • Accept what is and become accountable. There is choice in each and every moment, and we seize those choices making ourselves our greatest and most profound instrument.

  • Create deep meaning – for ourselves and for others. We let go of FOMO, ruthlessly divine signal from noise, play connect the dots, and design brilliant, relevant strategy that creates real movement – and not more motion.

You are the one you've been waiting for.

For more than two decades, Imago has partnered with organizations large and small, working alongside our clients as they developed strategic plans, shifted their culture, strategically aligned equity initiatives, and wrestled with adaptive leadership challenges.

The perspective we have gained in these collaborations, coupled with the moment we find ourselves, have led us to develop these four primary services, which we are excited to bring to you and your organizations.

Leadership Development Cohort Facilitation

Imago is deeply committed to supporting social impact leaders who are more representative of the people being served and by doing so, ensuring the solutions generated in the field are more grounded and effective. Through flexible training, facilitation, and one-on-one executive coaching, Imago meets each leader where they are, moves them along their professional journey, and looks to create connections across the cohort to support cross-sector linkages. These projects typically span 10-14 months.

360 Leadership Assessments and Board Evaluations

Imago has designed our assessment and evaluation processes by centering our deep knowledge of organizational development, adaptive leadership, team synergy, systems theory, and equitable practices. These processes provide the opportunity for you or your organization's leadership to think strategically with Imago about performance and impact and consider the resources you need to continue to grow, and include one-on-one executive coaching for 360 leadership clients and facilitated making-meaning sessions for boards to explore the evaluation results together. These projects typically span 3-6 months.

Facilitator Training

Imago’s training program challenges facilitators to become radically responsible for the talents they have been given. Trainees will develop their facilitator stance by moving through five key competencies that support leading conversations that shift perspective, dig deep, and keep prodding to action for days after. The facilitator-trainer will share conceptual frameworks, hold space for reflection and intention-setting, provide opportunities to practice skills through customized activities, offer observations and perspective, and work with the group to deepen learning and strengthen impact as facilitators. These trainings can occur over one full-day retreat or over the course of a couple of shorter sessions.

Racial Equity Action Planning

Imago will purposefully move with you through a series of conversations that will clarify the relationship between race, racism, inequities, and the purpose and work of your organization. The work starts with “why” – deeply exploring the organizational and personal purpose that is the foundation for the work that follows, then moves to the “how” – determining whether racial equity and anti-racism are mission-critical, and finally, the “what” – the specific processes, policies, behaviors, and actions that can be tried and adopted. Part of our success together will be creating a regular set of actions that can reinforce this cycle long after our engagement is completed. These processes are led by Paola Maranan and typically span 9-12 months.

“I can remember numerous times throughout my life when a friend or colleague told me that I needed to trust myself, but it didn’t cross my mind to consider self-trust a leadership behavior, until this Fellowship.”
